COMMERCIAL HVAC ESTIMATOR

Our company is looking for a HVAC Commercial Estimator to join our team.
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and subcontractors

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements

• Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and other construction management tools to perform quantity takeoffs, estimating material needs and labor costs precisely.

• Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include detailed breakdowns of costs, schedules, and assumptions.

• Respond to inbound queries and requests

• Knowledge of ductwork (both fiberglass and sheet-metal), refrigerant piping (split-system and VRF), chilled water and HVAC insulation

• Confirm subcontractors scope is complete

• Prepare estimates and major equipment purchase orders in detail for all products Understand scope of HVAC work

• Update estimating sheets every quarter

• Prepare job take offs perform turnover meetings to field team

• Review project for any possible RFIs

 
Requirements:
 

• Knowledge of commercial HVAC / Mechanical contracting

• Familiarity with construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting

• Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents accurately.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to negotiate effectively

• Knowledge of bidding software

• Strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to prioritize work assignments

• Ability to develop budgets and time lines

• Multi-tasker and Organized

• Great customer service and a team attitude

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC estimating preferred

• Works well on own or in a team environment
